Items pertaining to the Woodyard on the National Mall in Washington D.C which once served as a source of income for men struggling during the Great Depression.One could stop by and earn money by chopping wood. The site later became the home of the National Gallery of Art. Enclosed is an original WPA photo of the wood lot and a photo of the men and women who ran the project at the 1936 Woodyard Christmas Party with all their autographs on the reverse.
