    Description

    Description -
A 1958 WASHINGTON MONUMENT - Washington, D.C. - three-panel (six page) monochrome tourist brochure/folder produced by the National Park Service under the auspices of the United States Department of the Interior, Fred A. Seaton - Secretary, reprinted at the U.S. Government Printing Office, publication number 1958-O-477559. Front cover panel is an image of the monument, next page describes its very early history with no photographs, next page describes its ongoing history and construction with early images, next page describes further construction and design with a night shot water reflection, next page describes early American history during Washington's administration with a photo of the monument and reflecting pool, and the back cover panel concludes the history and identifies Mission 66 and the monument administration/statistical details.
    Condition -
Very good condition. Just slight age-tanning of the paper. Handling wear is limited to just a softness to the corners and a couple of small marks on the back cover. Otherwise it is nice and flat, without creases, no pencil or ink, no rips, etc. There is just slight age-fading to this 62-year-old document - somehow surviving the duress of vacation travel.
