Illum-A-Window™ uses a 5mm LED
warm-white
bulb that mimics the color of a typical electric candle. The LED is encased in a neatly designed alcove that captures the light and brightly displays it in the shape of a typical candle bulb.  Light is directed
outside
, allowing you to keep every candle on throughout the night, even in bedrooms. Indoor lighting will not affect functionality because the candle only responds to outdoor light (the light sensor is embedded within the solar panel which faces outside).
You can attach Illum-A-Window™ at any level in any window with the included suction cup.  Our suction cups are ribbed to provide premium results and are rated to hold much heavier objects.  Simply clean the specific area of the window with rubbing alcohol or glass cleaner for exceptional adherence.  Illum-A-Window™ also has a flat bottom so you can also set it on a window sill.
Illum-A-Window™ is about five inches high so it fits in the tiniest of windows. Windows such as Side Lights or windows in outbuildings with no electricity can finally have candles too!
TYPE OF BATTERY TO USE:
Each candle needs one AA alkaline battery.  (A normal, Run-of-the-Mill, alkaline battery.)
Extensive testing has proven regular Rayovac brand batteries work best and are good at taking a recharge during the daytime.  The candles' circuitry provides the same slow & low charge that typical wall/plug-in recharging units provide, it just use the Sun instead of a plug.  Duracell brand batteries are not recommended because some leaked during
extreme
testing.
Do you live in an open area and the candles will face Due South?  New batteries probably every few months.
Do you live in the woods and the candles will face North?  New batteries probably every few weeks.
Most alkaline batteries will accept a recharge if you give them an amount of current they like, just not as many times as NiCd or NiMh batteries
. But
alkalines can still give you brightly lit candles after an overcast day and if you don't get fantastic direct Southern Exposure due to overall stored charge, whereas NiCd's and Nimh's will not.
This is why alkaline batteries are the overall best choice.
Batteries are not included as a way to keep your costs lower
and
because of shipping restraints.  And also because some people who get copious amounts of direct Southern Exposure may want to play around with using NiCd's or NiMh's.  If you want more information and even more specifics, please check out the Illum-A-Window site for more on this.

RETURNS:
I do not accept returns for Illum-A-Window™. The reasons for this are as follows: The parameters required for Illum-A-Window™ to perform correctly are clearly explained so the consumer is fully educated in making his/her decision. While buyer’s remorse is eliminated because of this, I also understand that many customers may only use the product for specific parties/functions and/or may only use the product during the Holiday Season.
I found early on that quite a few customers used the candles for such instances, fulfilled their needs, and then wished to return them for a refund.
It is for these reasons that I do not accept returns and I hope you understand.
