We Need Some Space...In order to ensure everyone's safety, please ensure there is adequate space for delivery and you have a safe environment for the driver. All of our haulers put safety first, and if we can't safely deliver at your site we won't, but you'll still be on the hook for trucking charges. Nobody wants that, so please make safety a priority and ensure you have adequate space for delivery. The Tilt-Bed will need 40' of additional space to deliver (60' total for 20' containers) and the Roll-Off truck will need 60' of additional space (100' total for 40' containers). Please note, if we cannot safely deliver, you will still be charged for trucking.
Preparing Your Site
The most common issue after delivery is that the doors don't open and close easily. Even though containers are all steel, if they are on uneven surfaces or loaded heavy to one side, they can twist just slightly enough for the doors not to line up properly and be very difficult to open and close. The best solution is to place wood blocks under the door frame (and ideally the length of the container). This will ensure your doors line up properly and open/close smoothly.
Keep Your Container Out of Water
Steel cross members are used to support the floor, and if your container is in an area where water will regularly be underneath the box, those cross members will rust out and your floor will start to get soft. Avoid this by picking a location where water does not pool, and/or by placing your container on blocks.
Delivery Guidelines from trucker
This includes but is not limited to the following …
• There must be at least 100 straight linear feet for the truck to back into the intended drop site.
• The drop site and pathway to the intended drop site should be free of rocks, stumps, debris, low hanging power lines and tree limbs that could puncture tires or damage our equipment.
• The drop site and pathway to the intended drop site should be dry and packed. The equipment we use is heavy and it is important that the ground is dry and hard packed so that the truck does not get stuck.
• There must be adequate space to maneuver a 75’ long tractor trailer as needed at the delivery location. Be aware of the amount of space available entering the property. There should be enough space for the truck and trailer to get into the property without hitting mailboxes, fences, gates or culverts. Be sure there are no obstacles such as cars, buildings, trees, etc. in the way. Be aware that we cannot encroach on private property belonging to others.
. Our delivery equipment is heavy and we are not responsible for cracked sidewalks, pavement, curbs, septic tanks, sewer lines or underground utilities that might be damaged.
• On pickups and relocations the container must be empty, and the container must be unlocked so that the driver can verify that the box is empty.
• The site address must be on a maintained 2 lane county road.
• The actual drop site where the container will sit should be level.
• The drop site location should not require our equipment to go up or down any terrain that is not paved in order to complete a delivery.
