Peugeot Triathalon 1986 Bike 62cm Frameset Frame L'Erotica Simplex Reynolds 501

Here's a vintage 1986? Peugeot Triathlon road bike 62 cm frameset.  It measures 62cm from center of bottom bracket to top of top tube.  58 cm top tube c to c. They ran 700 m wheels with short throw brakes, front and back.  The Reynolds 501 decal is in good shape, denoting a three tube main triangle of light weight, chrome moly steel.  These Triathlon's are light weight, and Reynolds 501 is enormously strong.  They were designed for long distance comfort with high maneuverability.  The main frame is in good structural shape with arrow straight stays and good English threading in the bottom bracket.  It has a 126mm spread on the rear axle stays.  The Simplex drops are solid and strong with a good threaded hanger bracket. The stays are arrow straight with some typical leading edge scratching.  The main tubes show very few scratches and pits, and are in good structure.  There is no buckling near the head tube.  The 100 mm spread fork is of very good structure with decent English threading on the 1" tube.  The sloping crown is strong down through the straight blades. I saw no bends, cracks, dents, or brutal rust-out.  Surface rust is even hard to find on this Colorado high desert climate frame.  Included are the Suntour friction levers and seat binder bolt.  These metallic silver-white Peugeot Triathlons were handsome, well built bikes in the finest French tradition.  This one has some cosmetic imperfections that can come with a bike this age--but is still quite presentable.  They are getting harder and harder to find.
