Vintage 83 Klein Road Bike FRAMESET Fork Shimano 600 Headset Modolo Shifters BB

Description

This is an early 1983 Klein Performance road bike frameset. I had this built up recently and the old champagne beauty rides Really nice and comfortably. I'm selling as a frameset (with extras), as you see now, because it is just a hair too big for me. The rear dropout sports the serial (S251). The Suntour FD was made for this Klein and mounts directly to the frame. The rear Shifter cable was just replaced and is included. The front cable is in good shape and is included as well! The vintage Modolo downtube shifters are great and they are also included.

The cosmetic condition is easy to see in the photographs. There are some paint scratches and paint imperfections/missing paint here and there. Plus, a good bit of wear to the paint on the drive side chain stay area. Overall, a nice looker for a 38 year old! There is a possibility that this is a repaint, but my educated guess is that this was a Klein prototype for the Klein Performance. One of the reasons I believe this could be the case is because there is a water slide decal on the drive side down tube that says "patent pending" (which is pretty cool?!).
